# Settings

Configure Catalog to match your preferences and workflow.

## Accessing Settings

Open Settings by:

- Clicking the gear icon in the navigation menu
- Using the keyboard shortcut (if configured)
- Selecting **Settings** from the user menu

## Display Settings

### Theme

Choose your preferred appearance:

- **Light Mode**: Bright background, dark text
- **Dark Mode**: Dark background, light text
- **System**: Follow your device's theme setting

### Layout

Configure the interface layout:

- **Compact**: More information in less space
- **Comfortable**: Balanced spacing (default)
- **Spacious**: Larger elements, more whitespace

### Results Per Page

Set how many items display in search results:

- 10 items
- 25 items (default)
- 50 items
- 100 items

## Search Preferences

### Default Search Type

Set your preferred search method:

- Part Number (default)
- Vehicle Application
- Keyword

### Auto-Complete

Enable or disable search suggestions:

- **On**: Show suggestions as you type
- **Off**: Only search on Enter

### Search History

Manage your search history:

- Enable/disable history tracking
- Clear search history
- Set history retention period

## Location Settings

### Default Location

Set your primary inventory location:

1. Click **Change Location**
2. Search or browse available locations
3. Select your preferred default

### Multi-Location View

Configure how stock from other locations displays:

- Show all locations
- Show hub locations only
- Show local locations only

## Notification Settings

### In-App Notifications

Configure notifications for:

- Price changes
- Stock alerts
- Order updates
- System announcements

### Email Notifications

Receive email notifications for:

- Order confirmations
- Stock availability alerts
- Daily/weekly summaries

## Account Settings

### Profile

View and update your profile:

- Display name
- Contact information
- Department/role

### Security

Manage security settings:

- Change password
- Enable two-factor authentication
- View active sessions
- Sign out of all devices

## Data & Privacy

### Data Export

Export your data:

- Search history
- Favorites
- Order history

### Privacy

Control your data:

- Clear cached data
- Reset preferences
- Manage cookies (web)

## Resetting Settings

To restore default settings:

1. Go to **Settings** > **Advanced**
2. Click **Reset to Defaults**
3. Confirm the reset

Resetting settings will clear all customizations but will not affect your account, orders, or saved data.
