# Search The search functionality is the core feature of Catalog, enabling quick and accurate parts lookup. ## Search Methods ### Part Number Search Search directly by manufacturer part number: 1. Enter the full or partial part number in the search bar 2. Press **Enter** or click the search icon 3. Results display matching parts from all manufacturers :::{tip} Part number search supports partial matches. Entering "BK" will find parts like "BK123", "BK456", etc. ::: ### Keyword Search Search by product description or keywords: - Enter descriptive terms like "brake pad front" - Combine multiple keywords for more specific results - Use quotes for exact phrase matching ### VIN Search Search by Vehicle Identification Number: 1. Click the **VIN** search option or enter a 17-character VIN 2. The system decodes the VIN and identifies the vehicle 3. Browse applicable parts categories for that vehicle ### Vehicle Application Search Search by vehicle details: 1. Select **Year** from the dropdown 2. Select **Make** (e.g., Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota) 3. Select **Model** (e.g., F-150, Silverado, Camry) 4. Optionally select **Engine** or **Submodel** 5. Browse parts categories or search within the vehicle context ## Search Results ### Result Display Search results show: - **Part Number**: Primary manufacturer part number - **Description**: Product name and specifications - **Brand**: Manufacturer or brand name - **Availability**: Stock status and quantity - **Price**: Current pricing information ### Filtering Results Use filters to narrow results: - **Brand**: Filter by specific manufacturers - **Category**: Filter by product category - **Availability**: Show only in-stock items - **Price Range**: Set minimum/maximum price ### Sorting Results Sort results by: - Relevance (default) - Part number (A-Z or Z-A) - Price (low to high or high to low) - Availability ## Search Tips :::{note} **Pro Tips for Effective Searching** 1.
